The DressMaker
August 7th | 12 pm EST | Zoom
Join GlobalWE on August 7th at 12 p.m. EST for a discussion of the movie The Dressmaker (2015), which is available across a variety of platforms (Vudu, YouTube, Google, Amazon, Apple).
The Dressmaker is a 2015 Australian comedy-drama film co-written and directed by Jocelyn Moorhouse, based on the 2000 novel of the same name by Rosalie Ham.1 The Dressmaker tells the story of Tilly Dunnage who, after years of working as a dressmaker in exclusive Parisian fashion houses, returns home to a town in the Australian outback to reconcile with her eccentric mother Molly.2 With her sewing machine and haute couture style, she transforms the women and exacts sweet revenge on those who did her wrong.3

Support the GlobalWE mission while in the comfort of your home!
Each quarter GlobalWE announces a new film that is widely available on platforms. We ask that you watch the film at your leisure from the comfort of your home and then join us online, on the given date, for a lively discussion. In our virtual gathering we will discuss the film, raise questions, and advance the mission of GlobalWE: the empowerment of women through education, dialogue and connection among individuals working for women's rights and freedoms worldwide. We hope to see you then!
