Harvard GlobalWE Presents
Discussion Circles
The Impact of Ongoing Conflicts on Women's Basic Needs
Sunday, May 19, 2024, 12 pm EST, via Zoom
Harvard GlobalWE's fourth Discussion Circle will highlight the impact of the mass suffering of women through starvation, displacement, and acute lack of medical care because of the ongoing conflicts in Gaza, Sudan, and Haiti. We will discuss the tragic loss of basic human rights for women in these areas and its long-lasting impact on peacebuilding and post-conflict reconciliation. A panel of experts will share their research and analysis on this topic, followed by small group discussions.
Discussion Circles are an initiative of GlobalWE to discuss current, pressing news. We work to empower women by addressing fundamental hindrances to their equality and well-being; in the same vein, we want to offer a space to discuss respectfully pressing topics of the day.
We hope you will be able to join us and participate in a robust and meaningful discussion with other people passionate about women’s empowerment.
